Hydrangea quercifolia: Oakleaf Hydrangea
A very popular and worthwhile landscape shrub. This plant offers multi-season interest.
The plant boasts large, white/cream terminal panicles from May to June. The coarse textured, oak-shaped leaves, turn a beautiful maroon in the fall. On older plants the larger stems offer a beautiful cinnamon exfoliating bark.
Oakleaf will tolerate more sun than Bigleaf or Smooth Hydrangea but will still require adequate moisture to survive an Arkansas summer. Plant size is 6' tall by 9' wide.
