Arkansas Extension Online Courses for the General Public

We provide a range of online classes for the general public, many of them free of charge.

We are adding new classes regularly. Below is a list of our current class offerings:

 

Backyard Poultry logo with chickens

Introduction to Backyard Poultry introduces various poultry breeds and their uses, provides participants with the basics of poultry husbandry and care, including housing and nutritional requirements.  Learners will develop an understanding of diseases and biosecurity principles.  The course will provide participants with information regarding poultry reproduction and the basics of egg incubation, hatching eggs, and care of baby chicks, and provided with resources regarding home processing of poultry for consumption, and safe practices for handling eggs.

Best Care Connected is an online professional development course that provides 5 hours of training verified through Traveling Arkansas' Professional Pathways (TAPP). The course is offered free of charge by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in partnership with the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.

Best Care Out of School Time (BCOOST) is an online professional development course that provides 5 hours of training.  The course is offered free of charge by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service in partnership with the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education.

Building Financial Stability discusses basic financial management skills, and how these basic skills are critical for both business and personal success.  Learn ways to improve financial management.  Money management tips can help families increase financial stability and create a more stable home life. 

Guiding Childern Successfully

 

Guiding Children Successfully online training course for child care providers, parents, and all other individuals working with or caring for children.

How to Talk to Your Doctor features a "train the trainer" video for those who will facilitate the How to Talk to Your Doctor session. The course describes how to work with limited literacy audiences, reviews session components, and models how to conduct the session.

Kids and Money is a self-paced online course targeted toward adults. Children learn to manage money from the adults who are around them.  Parents, guardians, and educators are often unaware that they are role models for financial management.  We can help send the next generation on the road to financial success by helping develop financial management skills.

Master Gardener online courses offer training for new Master Gardeners and continuing education for existing Master Gardener Volunteers.

The Nutrient Management Planner Training online course is an educational project created by the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service (UAEX) and funded by the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission (ANRC).  

Soybean Science Challenge Logo

 
Soybean Science Challenge online course is a self paced class with 6 module.  The Soybean Science Challenge is an educational project funded by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board to support secondary student scholarship and research to ensure the sustainability of soybean production in Arkansas. 

4H Clover

 
The 4-H Veterinary Science program is an educational project created by the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service (UAEX) and funded by private donations to support 4-Hers interested in the veterinary field.

The Private Pesticide Applicator Online Recertification training is only for re-certification. That means you have had a private applicator license in the last five years. If you have never had a private applicator license or it has been over 5 years since you had one, you must contact a County Extension Office. They can provide the initial certification training required for first-timers or those that have let their license lapse more than 5 years. 
The $20 you pay for this online training applies only to your re-certification training. The online training gives you the full 5-year re-certification that you would receive if you attended a face-to-face meeting.

The Biotechnology Course Series online course is a self-paced class that presents an overview of the history of biotechnology, the science of biotechnology, and the benefits and risks of biotechnology.

The purpose of the Introduction to County Government course is to create a working knowledge of the responsibilities and budgeting process of county governments in Arkansas and become proficient in accessing and interpreting UA-Cooperative Extension Service county government resources.

Create your own account in the Login box. Be sure you type in a valid email address.  The first and last names you enter will be how they appear on your course certificates.  In about 5 minutes, you should receive an email confirmation with instructions.  If the email does not arrive, check your junk email folder. 

To reset your password, select Lost Password? in the Login box.   Submit your username or your email address. If we can find you in the database, an email will be sent to your email address, with instructions how to get access again.
