Office 365 Email - Initial Login Instructions (Changing your temporary password)
All accounts have been set to a temporary password which will need to be changed upon initial logon. You can obtain your temporary password by contacting the Call Center.
To access your Microsoft Office 365 account, use the link owa.uaex.edu. You can type or copy-and-paste this link into any browser.
When logging in for the first time, enter your @uaex.edu email address (this will be your Office 365 username) with the temporary password (provided separately).
Click “Sign in”.
After entering your username and the temporary password, you will be prompted to update your password. Your new password must be at least 8 characters long and a combination of upper and lower case characters, and numbers. Your “Old password” is the temporary password provided in a separate memo.
Due to state law and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) you will be required to change your password every 90 days. Initially you can set it to whatever you choose as long as it meets the above rules.
You will then be taken to your Outlook Web Application (OWA) mailbox.
NOTE: You may use the browser based Outlook Web Application (OWA) or the desktop client (Outlook 2013 or 2016). Some of the advantages of using Outlook include better speed and performance for a county office with low or slow Internet connection, top menu (ribbon) similar to Microsoft Word, more features such as a more powerful search. Try both and see which option you prefer. You can use both Outlook at your desk and OWA when away from your desk.
