CONWAY, Ark. – The Faulkner County Farm Round Up, postponed from April due to soggy grounds, has been rescheduled for May 11, the Faulkner County Extension Office said.

The event, which usually runs a day and a half, will be compressed into a one-day affair in its rescheduled form. The event usually draws about 800-1,000 second graders from area schools. The first classes are expected at the Don Owens Sports Complex riding arena around 8:30, with the last class leaving around 2 p.m. The sports complex is at 10 Lower Ridge Road in Conway. The Round Up has been held since 2005.

“We hated to postpone the event, but we’re glad to be able to offer it before school is out, so our second graders can get an up close and personal look at the many aspects of agriculture,” said Hank Chaney, Faulkner County extension staff chair for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.

The Round Up is sponsored by Faulkner Country 4-H, Arkansas Forestry Commission, Conway Farmers Market, Faulkner County Master Gardeners, Farm Credit of Western Arkansas, Sunrise Riders Therapeutic Riding, Arkansas Beekeepers Association, Arkansas Rice, Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board and the Arkansas Farm Bureau.
