VAN BUREN, Ark. – Arkansas’ own country music singer-songwriter Lance Carpenter will be the headliner June 13 for a concert to benefit the Crawford County 4-H Youth Development program.
Nickie Taul-Harding, Crawford County extension agent for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture, said the concert at the Crawford County Fairgrounds in Mulberry will also feature blues and R&B artist Prince Albert “The Dogman” Smith.
Prince Albert will open the concert at 6:30 p.m. with Lance Carpenter taking the stage at 8 p.m. Admission will be $10 a person and youth 5 and under free. No advance ticket sales – all tickets will be sold at the gate. Concessions are available on the grounds for $5 or less. Attendees are asked not to bring in outside food or beverages.
Carpenter is a Nashville artist who grew up in Ozark and learned to play guitar while at Arkansas Tech. Smith is a local favorite with more than six decades of performing under his belt.
“We’re so excited to have these artists playing to benefit our local 4-H program,” said Taul-Harding. “Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy this concert under the stars.”
Harding also asked fans to show their support on Twitter with the event hashtag: #4HKirkseyPark.
Proceeds will support outstanding educational opportunities for Crawford County youth attending district, state and national competitions, county, state and national leadership trips and camps, and educational tours.
