AEHC will host NVON meeting in 2019
The Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council will host the annual meeting of the National Volunteer Outreach Network, which is made up of eight states, in 2019.
The 21st annual conference of the National Volunteer Outreach Network (NVON) is scheduled July 23-25, 2019, at the Holiday Inn at Springdale.
Mary Fisher of Yell County, immediate past president of the Arkansas Extension Homemakers Council, will be the chairman for the meeting.
NVON is made up of eight states – Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The mission of the organization is for member organizations to work together to promote communications, education and volunteerism for all people.
An organizational meeting for the planning committee was in the fall of 2016. The next meeting is scheduled during the Educational Workshop at Ferndale in March. Anyone interested in assisting with the event is invited to attend the meeting or contact Mary for more information. Since the state Council is a member of NVON, all Extension Homemakers are associated with the organization.
Arkansas has hosted two earlier NVON conference, in 2006 and 2010, both at Hot Springs.
