April 6, 2015 - HOMEGROWN PROFITS 2015: TAPPING IN TO RISING MARKETS

The University of Arkansas, Arkansas Farmers Market Association and Farm Bureau presented the second annual Homegrown Profits workshop on April 6, 2015. This year's workshop, Homegrown Profits 2015: Tapping in to Rising Markets, exposed farmer participants to some of Arkansas most committed local food buyers, and highlighted processes involved with selling and delivering produce to retail establishments. 

Other topics included farmers speaking about their marketing successes; a rapidly expanding CSA; growing in field tunnels; growing farm to school programs; SNAP for individual farmers; grant writing 101 for USDA grants; profiting from value-added products; and, an FSMA and food safety update.
