C.E.S.P. 3-39: Use of Professional Designations and Academic Degrees
Date Revised: 4-23-2001
Summary: Establishes policy concerning use of professional designations and academic degrees on correspondence and printed matter.
Professional designations and academic degrees should not be used as part of the official signature element on routine Extension correspondence. Either or both may be used in exceptional situations when identification or the writer's degree or professional designation would be of particular interest to the recipient.
Professional designations and academic degrees may be used as desired to identify the author of a publication or similar printed matter and may be used on business cards.
