C.E.S.P. 1-18: Employment References

Summary: Establishes policy concerning response to inquiries for employment references.
I. Any request for an employment reference must be forwarded to the Human Resources Office. Under no circumstances should a supervisor assume the risk of releasing employment information about a current or former employee.
II. The Human Resources Office will respond to all inquiries for employment references with confirmation of the following information only:
A. Confirmation of employment
B. Dates of employment
C. Title of employee’s most recent position
