We are part of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service’s statewide network and the University of Arkansas System’s Division of Agriculture.  Our mission is to provide research-based information through non-formal education to help all Arkansans improve their economic well-being and the quality of their lives.  Whether it is agriculture, 4-H, health and living, or community development, the St. Francis County Extension Office is at your service!

4-H Leadership Team helps the Assisted Living members plant flowers

St. Francis County 4-H and Youth Program

All youth, ages 5 to 19, are invited to enroll for 4-H membership. Adults are also welcome to take part in the 4-H experience by becoming certified 4-H Volunteer Leaders. Active 4-H clubs in St. Francis County include:Crowley's Ridge Horse Project Club, and Shooting Sports Club. If you do not see a club in your community, talk with our local agent about organizing a club in your area.  Contact: Tori Copeland or Judy Sweet.

Family and Consumer Science Program

The Family and Consumer Science Program was initially founded as Home Economics.  Today we study and apply the sciences that affect the way humans relate with their environment. We currently offer programs in health and wellness, aging, marriage, parenting, family life, family and consumer economics, nutrition, food safety, food preservation and leadership.  For more information please contact Tori Copeland.

Bangs Vaccination Day

St. Francis County Livestock and Forage Program

The St. Francis County Extension Service offers numerous programs in the areas of Livestock and Forage production.  Programs include: bangs vaccination, herd performance programs, artificial insemination, age and source verification, forage fertility demonstrations, forage herbicide demonstrations, forage quality testing, forage variety trials and more. Scouting Corn Verification Field

St. Francis County Row-Crop Program

St. Francis County's main agriculture sector is row crops.  Crops grown include: corn, cotton, milo, soybeans, winter wheat, and rice.  The Extension office works hard to assist farmers in achieving their crops fullest potential. Programs include: variety trials, verification trials, herbicide and fertility trials, educational meetings, pesticide applicator training, soil sampling and much more.  Please contact Cody Griffin for more information.
