Our Extension team is busy this time of year in Mississippi county. The Ag Agents are out in the fields doing what they do best - SERVICING!   Other agents (FCS, 4-H and Program Assistant) are busy carrying programs through out Mississippi County making a difference in the health and wellness of our county residents.

Hart Family

Hart Family named 2016 Mississippi County Farm Family of the Year 

Congratulations, Hart Family of Osceola and Manila on being named 2016 Mississippi County Farm Family of the Year.  Their farming life started in 1960 with James "Jimmy" Hart farming 40 acres.  The family has strong ties to the local community and as of today operation is 8,500 acres.  For more information about the Hart Family, check out the Farm Bureau news, local news, and Extension Service.

Mississippi County Youth Learn Wellness at the Library

Dr. Pam Pruett Brings OrganWise Guys and Gals to the Blytheville Public Library.  These kids learned about nutrition and exercises that help us become healthier from the inside to the outside.  Activities and exercise made fitness fun with these children.  Dr. Pruett provided students and parents ideas for increasing family fitness fun from the award winning research-based health and wellness curriculum, OrganWise Guys.

 Lammers Earns Master Gardener's 2016 Scholarship

Jaden Lammers of Dell is the recipient of the first Mississippi County Master Gardener Scholarship.  This year's scholarship was named in the memory of charter member of the Mississippi County Master Gardner, Craig Farrelly.  The presentation was held at the Arkansas Northeastern College.  Casey Tune , president of the County Master Gardeners, presented the scholarship . Jaden is the son of Jeff and Kelly Lammers.  He is a 2016 graduate of Gosnell High School.  His plans are to attend the University of Arkansas, majoring in plant science.  Congratulations Jaden Lammers.

Mississippi County 4-H Youth Leadership Program 2016 Success!

Youth from all six schools in Mississippi County:  Blytheville, Armorel, Gosnell, Manila, Osceola and Rivercrest.

Briggs-Seabaugh Wellness Center offers training opportunity for health and wellness

Large group sessions on deskercise with Dr. Traywick and how to be a health and wellness volunteer with Dr. Washburn. Breakout sessions include tai chi and chair yoga, along with mindfulness and family life sessions.
