2015 Master Gardeners Basic Training to Begin Soon

TEXARKANA, Ark. –

Who are Master Gardeners? They are people just like you who have an interest in gardening, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help others solve gardening problems.

Red Dirt Master Gardeners in Miller County are now accepting applications for basic training. To become a Master Gardener, one must be accepted into the 40 hour training program offered by the University of Arkansas Systems Division of Agriculture. This program includes training on lawn care, ornamental trees and shrubs, fire ant and other insect control, disease and weed management, soils and plant nutrition, vegetable and flower gardening, home fruit production, irrigation, and much more.

Classes this year will be held October 27, 29, 30 and November 3, 5, 6, 2015, in Miller County. Cost is $110.
