Monday is Deadline to Register to Vote in Arkansas for May Primary
It's Friday afternoon. You've ignored the Facebook prompts over the past week that mentioned registering to vote. Now you're seeing tweets and posts by friends about a deadline for the May 22 primary.
You're not out of time just yet. Monday, April 23 is the deadline to register if you're wanting to vote in the Arkansas primary.
What can you do?
Register In Person
Your county clerk's office is the best place to register in person because they are the people responsible for processing the forms in the first place. If you register in person there, you can be assured you registered in time. The clerk's office will be open Monday. Find your clerk's address here.
Mail A Form
You can pick up an application from numerous locations, put a stamp on it and throw it in the mail box Saturday or Monday. It's a safer bet to drop the form off at the post office. Pay attention to your post office's last pick up time of the day because your form has to be postmarked by the end of the day Monday.
You can download and print the voter registration form from the Arkansas Secretary of State's website and mail it in, or pick one up at these locations:
If you're already a registered voter, you don't need to resend the form.
However, election officials always encourage voters to check their status so there are no surprises as they remove voters every so often for being inactive. Check out your status.
