Baxter County Voters To Decide Sales Tax in September
Voters in Baxter County have an election Sept. 12, 2017. They will be voting on two county-wide sales tax measures. The Public Policy Center and the Baxter County office of the Cooperative Extension Service created a fact sheet to answer basic questions about the issues. Note: Mountain Home residents will also be voting on a sales tax proposal Sept. 12. Extension's fact sheet reviews only the county-wide ballot issues. What's on the ballot?
Why are these issues on the ballot? A sales tax must be approved by voters. At a meeting on July 11, 2017, the Baxter County Quorum Court voted to place these measures before the voters.
