Joe Waldrum, Ph.D.
Joe Waldrum serves as the Interim Assistant Director-Community & Economic Development and Professor of Leadership Development at the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service. During his 38 plus years, he has held positions as an area soybean specialist, pesticide specialist, State Leader for Agriculture, Economic and Resource Development, and Director of Staff Development.
He was named to direct LeadAR (a two year adult leadership development program) in 1993. In addition to his administrative duties, he focuses on the long term financial support and program development for LeadAR.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in biology from Hendrix College, and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in plant physiology from the University of Nebraska. During his career, he has received awards from USDA, the International Association of Programs for Agricultural Leaders, Epsilon Sigma Phi, Gamma Sigma Delta, and the Arkansas Association of Cooperative Extension Specialists. Dr. Waldrum is an Arkansas native and has a grown son and daughter.
