Leadership & Teambuilding for Adults

Whether you are looking for something to complement your business retreat or a way to improve your employees' processes, ExCEL can create a program to build toward your goal. We help managers learn to be leaders, employees to become teammates, and individuals to find their true potential. Many people finish the program aware of how hard they pushed themselves-and realize how much they enjoyed it.

The ExCEL program uses the outdoors to present everyday challenges in new ways to help people learn how to better overcome them. Teamwork, communication, trust, problem solving and other common words take on real meaning in unique and memorable team challenges.

Two participants are climbing the giant's ladder. One person is giving the other a boost with his knee so he can climb over the next ladder rung. The rungs are 8 foot long, 4 inch by 4 inch boards spaced 4 feet apart from each other.
"The team building exercises promoted unity and communication within our entire group. The experience was more than I could have imagined. Your staff is to be commended for the work you do for the leaders in Arkansas and beyond."
 - Janet Wray, Leadership Magnolia

This is the raccoon circle trust activity. 18 participants and holding on to a rope that is tied into a circle. They are all leaning back supporting each other and a seated position.

"ExCEL created a challenge course custom to our 200 employees with the goal of not only strengthening professional relationships through team-building but having a great time as well. From the very first time I met with Luke and his team, they always found a way to accommodate our requests and were extremely flexible and willing to go the extra mile. The challenge course developed by ExCEL was a perfect fit for Garver because it allowed our employees to be physically challenged with low-impact activities while enjoying interaction with their co-workers outside the office."
- Laura Nick, Garver

  • FAQ

What is the ideal group size?
We work with groups that are anywhere from four to 250 people. We normally subdivide into smaller groups of 15-20 people.

    What is the age limit?
ExCEL participants need to be age 13 and older. Especially for the high ropes course. The ExCEL program is suited for youth 8th grade and up and adults of all ages.

Is your zip line open to the public?
Our zip line is part of our team building and leadership program. Groups must book an ExCEL program in order to do our zip line.

What is the weight limit for your zip line and high challenge course?
    300 lbs.

What if some team members are not the most physically fit or have physical limitations?
We can tailor our programs appropriate for your team's level of fitness. During the planning phase of your team building program we take into account limitations of the team members and plan accordingly. If physical limitations are unknown until the program starts, our trained facilitators will do their best to modify and work with the limitation.

How much lead time do you need to book an event?
We prefer at least one-month lead time, but we have been known to facilitate a program the day after we received the initial request. Give us a call or send an email and we will do our best to meet your specific needs.

How much time is needed for the ExCEL Program?
The amount of time needed for the program is dependent upon the type of event and the number of participants. Most events start at 2 hours in length and then vary depending on the focus, needs, and goals of the program. Our most popular event is our full day (8 hours) event.

How much time is needed for the high challenge course?
Our high ropes course is part of our full day experience. It is usually done in the afternoon and takes at least three hours for a group of 20 participants to complete.

Do most of your programs take place outside?
Yes, most of our programs are outdoors. However, team building events can be designed for an outdoor or indoor venue. Fixed challenge course elements are outside.

    How should I dress?
Dress so you can be physically active and comfortable.  We highly recommend wearing closed toed shoes during our team building programs.  Closed toed shoes are required at our high challenge elements such as the high ropes course, climbing tower, and Giant’s Ladder.

What do you do in case of inclement weather?
Many of our groups choose to do the event despite the weather.  Most of our team building challenges can be altered for indoors.  As long as the weather is not dangerous, we give groups the option to continue with the program as planned.  However, if rescheduling is the only option, your deposit is good for six months after the original program date.

    What is the investment cost?
The investment is dependent upon the number of participants and the logistics of each program.  Contact us to discuss your exact needs.

Do you travel to other locations?
Yes!  ExCEL facilitators can travel to other locations.  We have offered programs to our clients in a wide variety of venues all over the state.
