C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center

The C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center is nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains just 10 miles west of Little Rock

 The C.A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center is the premier camp and educational facility for thousands of 4-Hers and other youth groups.*

Short History 

The Arkansas 4-H Foundation purchased 228 acres of land in April of 1976 in Ferndale, Arkansas west of Little Rock. In 1980 the "Arkansas 4-H Educational Center" was opened. The Arkansas 4-H Foundation later dedicated and renamed the center after its founder, Mr. C.A. Vines.

Programs offered at the Arkansas 4-H Center

The C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center is Arkansas Cooperative Extension's premiere stage for Leadership and Life Skill development for both youth and adults. Following the 4-H educational philosophy of learn-by-doing, the programs offered at the 4-H Center are taught using innovative methods to develop these Leadership and Life Skills.    



Our ExCEL program offers experiential team building programs ranging from a few hours to a few days.
Programs are customized for your group's specific needs. We offer ground based team building initiatives, low ropes course elements, outdoor climbing tower and giants ladder with team belay, static high ropes course with 23 elements including a 300ft zip line. Onsite and offsite programs.

Arkansas Outdoor School

Come to the Arkansas Outdoor School – a day of learning your students will never forget!  We offer experiential learning in a natural setting.

AOS can build the right program for your group or class, whether it’s a day, overnight or a multi-day visit.  We create a unique opportunity for students to learn in a setting away from the traditional classroom.

SEEK is a science enrichment program for home-schooled students in Arkansas.  Students attend classes one day per week for 12 weeks and leave the program with over 60 hours of lessons and labs.  Lessons include dissections, life science, geology, and more!

Day Camp

The Arkansas Outdoor School is proud to offer the AOS Summer Day Camp for 7-15 year olds.  Each day camp session has be tailored to give campers a chance to get out and explore, discover and learn about the world around them and have fun in the process. All camp activities place an emphasis on team work, self esteem, communication and cooperation.

4-H Overnight Camps

The Arkansas 4-H Camping Program offers camping and training opportunities for youth 5-19 years old and adults. Our overnight camps take place at the C. A. Vines Arkansas 4-H Center 10 miles west of Little Rock.  Canoeing, swimming, archery, fishing, rock wall climbing, high ropes challenge course, and off-site backpacking/canoeing adventures are just some of the exciting possibilities.
