Yell County
Agriculture & Natural Resources
Yell County is unique in its diversity of agricultural enterprises,
industries, and wealth of natural resources. Yell County is the 5th
largest county by land area in Arkansas, with a total of 593,853 acres.
Approximately 190,000 acres of land are dedicated to agricultural production on
850 farms. There are 56,000 acres of harvested cropland, and 427,000 acres
of forest in the county. Both agriculture and our natural resources
contribute greatly to the economy, diversity, and prosperity in Yell County.
The Cooperative Extension Service in Yell County strives to meet the
educational needs of agricultural producers, land owners, land managers, and
agriculture and natural resource professionals.
