Audio/Video Script:

Sherri Sanders
County Extension Agent - Agriculture

We're having some "Garden Parties" and you're invited! Hello this is Sherri Sanders, County Extension Agent - Agriculture. How about spending an hour with us to learn about gardening and horticulture? A Garden Party Lecture Series, consisting of three educational sessions on horticulture, will be conducted on several evenings this March, April and May. We hope you can take this opportunity to learn about horticulture and meet some new friends.

These events are coordinated by the White River Agriculture Multi-County program agents from Prairie, White and Woodruff Counties and the Arkansas State University-Beebe Agricultural Department.

The Garden Party Lecture Series will be held during several evenings this spring in Beebe at the ASU-Beebe Farm classroom. Each evening the program will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will last about an hour. Drinks and snacks will be served. The cost will be $5 per person per night. The scheduled dates and speakers are:

March 11th - Ann Wood, White County Master Gardener will be the featured speaker at the first "Garden Party". She will be conducting a program titled Roses. She will discuss the selection, placement, and care of roses in your landscape.

April 8th - Maris Fletcher, White County Master Gardener, will be conducting a program titled Vegetable Gardening in the Backyard. Her program will focus on the selection and placement of intensive vegetable gardening in small spaces. She emphasizes getting the most out of a small spot.

May 13th - Jim Robbins, Extension Horticulture Specialist, Cooperative Extension Service, will conduct a presentation on Plant Propagation.

For directions and additional information, please call the White County Cooperative Extension Service at 1-800-467-8166 or 501-268-5394.
