Oral Presenter Logistical Information
Microsoft Powerpoint on the PC platform is required. MacIntosh users should convert and test their presentations on a PC before the meeting.
All speakers must bring a copy of their presentation on a USB memory stick. To keep sessions running smoothly and on time, presenters will not be allowed to load presentations onto in-session computers nor will presenters be allowed to use personal laptops. All presentations must be checked-in and loaded on a mainframe computer in the speaker-ready room located in the Willow Room on Golden Gate Hall Level B2. Presentations will be saved to session computers via a server connection from the mainframe. At check-in, AFS and Marriot AV staff will convert presentations to Powerpoint shows if necessary and hyperlink presentations to in-session agendas. All presenters should save/name their file using the following rules: last name, session date/time, and session name (e.g., Fuller_Sept3_1030_Steelhead Cons.ppt). Presenters must check-in their talks the day before their session. Monday (September 3) afternoon presenters must check in their presentations by 12:00 PM. Presenters may update their saved presentation the day of their session but it must occur by 7:30 AM for morning sessions or 12:00 PM for afternoon sessions.

Sunday (September 2) 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
Monday-Wednesday (September3-5) 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
Thursday (September 6) 7:00AM to 1:00 pm
Projection screens and computers will also be available in the speaker check-in room (same hours) for presenters to review their presentations with the projection settings that will be used in the session rooms.

Manuscript and Management Brief Deadline Announcement
The editors of the "Proceedings of the 2007 Urban Fishing Symposium" have decided to extend the deadline for manuscript and management briefs from September 1, 2007 to September 14, 2007. The editors believe that this will allow for the authors to incorporate any suggestions that they may receive after delivering their presentation at the symposium. Ultimately, the editors believe that this will make the manuscripts and ultimately the proceedings an even better publication.
Call for Marketing and Promotional Items to be Displayed at the Social
As a part of the learning experience of the urban fishing symposium we invite you to bring some of your program's marketing and promotional items to display and giveaway. There will be a table set up at the social for these items. The purpose of this table is to generate ideas for promotional items and give participants tangible items to take home for their program to implement. Examples of items currently used by programs include temporary fish tattoos, hand towels with program logos on them, DVD's about your program, and t-shirts shrink wrapped into the shape of a channel catfish. The organizers believe that this has the potential to directly influence the efficiency of program marketing campaigns. If you would like to participate, please contact Rick Walsh Rick.firstname.lastname@example.org or Mark Nemeth email@example.com to ensure we have enough space available to include your items.

6/29/07 Important AFS 2007 Meeting Lodging Update from David Manning (Meeting General Chair) - " Please note that the Downtown San Francisco Marriott is completely sold-out on the night of Thursday, September 6 and has very limited availability on other conference dates. The 2007 Planning Committee anticipated high attendance in San Francisco and has room blocks at the same $140 AFS conference rate at the Parc 55 and Handlery Union Square Hotels. Pleasevisit the Annual Meeting Website and scroll to the bottom of the lodging page for reservation links to these properties. Both beautifully appointed hotels are a very short walk from the Marriott. As always, please do not delay making your reservations. We suspect the Parc 55 and Handlery will also fill to capacity."
6/15/07 "Presenters that have been awarded travel grants to assist them in attending the AFS Annual Meeting and Urban Fishing Symposium in San Fransisco, CA, can now download a reimbursement form at this site to obtain their travel grant funds."
6/5/07 "All speakers are required to bring their presentation on a flash-drive and presentations should be developed using Microsoft Powerpoint."
5/25/07 "To help us better organize and plan the symposium and social please make sure that you check the box on your annual meeting registration form that indicates you will be attending the Urban Fishing Symposium. There is no additional cost to your registration for this but it is imperative to our planning efforts that you do so."
5/25/07 "If you want to stay at the meeting hotel and not one of the overflow hotels be sure to book your rooms right away. The Marriot is filling up fast. To book your rooms go to the Annual Meeting page http://www.fisheries.org/sf/ and click on the Plan Your Trip tab."
