Water Evaporation

Mark Brown, Pulaski County

[Mark Brown standing next to a lake] As our triple-digit summer has shown, evaporation can be a powerful force.  If it can do this to a body of water, imagine what it could do to your lawn and landscape.

[Video showing various lawn sprinkler and the sun] One way to beat evaporation is by not watering in the heat of the day.  Warm season landscape plants need about one and a quarter inches of water per week; don't cheat them by watering during the day.

[Video showing someone adjusting a sprinker head.] Also, be sure your nozzles are adjusted correctly to get the water where it is needed most.
