The BodyWalk is a 30-foot by 36-foot walk-through exhibit representing the human body. This unique educational program is designed to involve kindergarten through fourth grade students in learning the skills and choices for healthy lifestyles. The program includes:

  • A walk through exhibit providing a colorful and enticing staging area for memorable learning experiences about healthy behaviors and choices.

  • Classroom activities and suggested resources for teachers to use to prepare the students prior to their walk through the exhibit and to reinforce the learning afterward.

  • A take-home booklet for students to read with their families.

The door looks like a large mouth opening with teetch and lips and a sign that says Hi Kids and Body Walk.Funded with a grant from the Arkansas Comprehensive Tobacco Program ($210,000), this traveling exhibit is expected to visit three or more schools each week and impact more than 30,000 youth each year. The objectives of this education program are to teach good nutrition, increase physical activity and reduce the incidence of substance abuse.

To schedule a visit in the Pulaski County area from the BodyWalk contact jbuffalo@uaex.edu or call 501-340-6650.
