About Us
County Impact Statements - Prairie County
The Prairie County Cooperative Extension Service continues to focus on the
long-range goals established by the County Extension Council and the members of
our program committees. These goals are updated annually with programs designed
to address critical needs.
The Cooperative Extension Service provides research based information to
producers and farm families to enhance the profitability of rice, soybeans,
wheat and other commodities. Numerous agricultural programs are available.
Families benefit financially from programs available through the Family Consumer
Sciences and 4-H programs. Approximately 1184 youth are enrolled in 4-H via
community clubs, project groups and school enrichment programs.
The county Extension program involves people in many ways as program
participants, volunteer leaders, committee members, resource people, financial
supporters and advocates. We encourage you to become familiar with and get
involved in our programs. We welcome your comments and suggestions in order to
plan programs that will meet the needs of our county. Please feel free to visit
your county Extension offices in DeValls Bluff or Des Arc to see how we can work
together for a better county program.
