Arkansas 4-H’ers shine at Mid-South Fair
MEMPHIS - Arkansas 4-H’ers excelled at the recent 4-H Day at the Mid-South
Fair in Memphis.
Shannon Caldwell, Arkansas 4-H camping coordinator, said 178 Arkansas 4-H’ers
registered for 4-H Day at the regional fair. Several 4-H’ers scored first-place
awards.
“I was proud of all our Arkansas 4-H’ers,” Caldwell said. “My day ended with
getting to see the senior poultry barbequing team from Arkansas take the top
three spots. It was a great end to a great day.”
In addition to Arkansas participants, 4-H’ers competed from Tennessee,
Mississippi, Kentucky and Missouri. The Arkansas 4-H program is the youth
development arm of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service.
