Congressman John Boozman to appear at APAC Seminar
HARRISON, Ark. - Business operators in north Arkansas can learn how tap into
the challenging, but lucrative, government marketplace by attending the Arkansas
Procurement Seminar at Harrison March 21.
Congressman John Boozman (R-Ark.) will serve as honorary co-host of the event
and welcome seminar participants.
The seminar is sponsored by the Arkansas Procurement Assistance Center
(APAC), an economic development program of the University of Arkansas Division
of Agriculture, and the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce.
APAC provides a variety of services, including free counseling and consulting
to Arkansas businesses on any issue related to selling goods or services to
public agencies, according to Sue Coates, instructor and APAC program director.
Coates said Boozman sought the seminar to promote additional market
opportunities for businesses in his district.
The seminar will introduce participants to government contracting, how to go
about it, where to get help, how to demystify the red tape, what it takes to
qualify, how to fill out the forms, what constitutes successful completion of
the project after the contract is awarded and how to get paid.
The seminar will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the John Paul Hammerschmidt
Business and Conference Center on the South Campus of North Arkansas College in
Harrison. The seminar is provided free of charge, but participants are asked to
register in advance and to bring $10 to cover a catered lunch.
Participants may register online at
