LITTLE ROCK -- Connecting the Dots, the statewide marketing competition open to Arkansas 4-H and FFA members, opens for registration Feb. 1, with a March 1entry deadline.
The competition challenges youth to promote a local farmer or farmers market and Arkansas MarketMaker. MarketMaker is a free and interactive online resource available that connects Arkansas' farmers, businesses and consumers. There is no cost to enter.
“Connecting the Dots is a unique opportunity for Arkansas youth to put their creativity to work in helping promote a local farmer or farmers market," said Ron Rainey, professor and co-director of the Southern Region Risk Management Education Center and the man behind MarketMaker in Arkansas. "And beyond the creative phase, the contest also gives youth a chance to get to know local food producers and their local farmers market managers.”
Entries must be submitted as PDFs.
Last year's inaugural contest was won the St. Paul FFA.
