STUTTGART, Ark. – Entrepreneurs old and new are welcome to attend the Business Plan Development & Legal Considerations for Outdoor Businesses Workshop, to be held Feb. 22 a the University of Arkansas Rice Research and Extension Center in Stuttgart.
“We want every landowner to go home with a business plan draft in hand, along with an understanding of how to prepare solid business plan accounting for marketing and legal purposes,” said Becky McPeake, professor and extension specialist-wildlife with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
A working knowledge of business plans and legal issues would give prospective entrepreneurs a head start, and would aid any current outdoor businesses seeking a refresher.
Speakers and presentations highlight the morning, and participants will be split up into groups in the afternoon to tackle business ideas for agritourism, nature-based tourism and hunting.
Among the items on the agenda:
- Revenue potential from natural resource enterprises
- Business plan development
- Using social media to promote business
- Liability and legal considerations
- Real-life examples of success
- Group activity: developing a business plan
- Business plan presentations on fee hunting, nature tourism, agritourism
Registration, featuring a continental breakfast, begins at 8:00 a.m. The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. Cost is $15 for a single person and $25 for couples.
