Healthy Diet

Every change you make to improve your diet matters, and your Cooperative Extension Service suggests you don't have to be perfect and you don't have to completely eliminate foods you enjoy to have a healthy diet.

Focus on finding foods you love and easy recipes that incorporate a few fresh ingredients.

Gradually, your diet will become healthier and more delicious.

To learn more, contact your county Extension office, and be sure to visit our website at uaex.edu.

Coffee Break

Premium coffee drinks are popular but are they really worth the money? Your Cooperative Extension Service suggests substituting "regular" coffee for high-cost coffee drinks.

Saving $2 a day by buying coffee rather than a cappuccino or latte can, over a year, allow you to completely fund a $500 emergency fund.

For more strategies toward building personal wealth, contact your county Extension office and be sure to visit our website at uaex.edu.

February Landscapes

February is a critical month for Arkansas gardens, and the first step to a luscious landscape and bountiful garden is to take a soil sample to your county Extension office, now.

Soil testing is the most accurate way to assess your soil’s nutrient balance.  Following your Extension agents recommendations will ensure that fertilizers, herbicides and other amendments are applied effectively and efficiently.

To learn how, contact your county Extension office and visit our website at uaex.edu.

Green Resolutions

Save money and help the environment by following these “green” resolutions from your Cooperative Extension Service.

Reduce your showers by two minutes and save 700 Gallons of water per month.

Turn off your dishwashers “heat dry” setting to reduce it’s energy consumption by up to 50%.

For many more energy saving ideas, contact your county Extension office and be sure to visit our website at uaex.edu.
