Flower beds the Master Gardeners designed and maintain have been a true success at Montgomery County Nursing Home and greatly enhance its appearance. The garden area that was added for our residents has paid tremendous dividends in their mental well-being. The bottom line is the Master Gardeners Program in Montgomery County is truly an asset in all rights and we remain forever grateful for their acts of good works and kindness. - Bryan Wann, Nursing Home Administrator

Current Master Gardener projects:

  • Courthouse bed design, maintenance and seasonal planting
  • Caddo Indian Monument and Senior Walk landscape design and  maintenance
  • Nursing Home Gardening Therapy and Theme Parties
  • County Fair Horticulture Show

The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardener Program invites the individual to combine an interest in horticulture with a willingness to serve one’s community. Master Gardeners receive forty hours of classroom horticulture training in exchange for volunteer service. An ongoing commitment to volunteer projects and continuing education ensures the integrity of the Master Gardener designation.
