Mississippi County
4-H Youth Development
There are five organized 4-H clubs in Mississippi County. Members are
encouraged to participate in as many county activities as possible. County
O'Rama, Conservation Day and the Omelet Event are available for any 4-H member
to earn points toward being honored at the annual Award's Banquet. If you would
like to participate in a 4-H Club contact the Extension Office for a list of
meeting locations and times.
Youth Leadership
Each year high school counselors and principals select students with
leadership potential to participate in the countywide Youth Leadership Program.
Students meet monthly for 10 months rotating meetings between schools. Several
activities are part of the leadership training including guest speakers from the
State 4-H Office, state politicians, and local government officials. Students
typically travel to Little Rock to meet government representatives and
participate in team building activities at the 4-H Center. The program
culminates with a graduation banquet.
