This program was developed for a three and one-half hour educational program
for childcare providers across the State of Arkansas. Howard, Little River and
Miller County extension agents worked together to develop, "Healthy Snacks Make
Healthy Kids".
Since it’s conception, the program has been taught twice, once at the
Texarkana Childcare Conference, which reaches providers in Arkansas and Texas.
It has also been taught at the Arkansas Early Childcare Conference in Hot
Springs. Over fifty childcare providers have attended the trainings.
The program was further developed as an exhibit to be used at Arkansas Galaxy
Conference in March 2003 and at the National Priester Conference in April. The
exhibit has been shared with approximately 250 agents, both statewide and
nationally.
Each lesson of the program can stand along or it can be combined with the
other lessons to conduct an in-depth program.
We hope you enjoy using this program. We would love to hear how you are using
the program and what suggestions you might have for improvement.
