Tomato workshop set for Feb. 18 in Conway

CONWAY, Ark. – Known in the past as “wolf peaches,” or “love apples,” there was once a lot of mythology associated with the tomato. However, take some of the mystery out of America’s most popular garden vegetable by joining the Faulkner County Extension Office for a Tomato Workshop on Feb. 18.

The workshop runs from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. and will be held at the Natural Resource Building at 110 S. Amity Road in Conway. The event has a $5 fee and participants may register at the Faulkner County Extension office by calling 501-329-8344.

“This workshop will offer some of the techniques of the nursery trade to help you grow the best tomatoes possible including grafting” Marsh said.

The workshop will be given by Marsh and John Gavin, Bradley County extension staff chair for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
