Lonoke County Fair
A closeup picture of our booth, "Bringing Kids Into the
Garden"-- in the foreground is an interactive game the children played.
The game is a circuit board (wires hidden in the back) whereby children
can match the picture on the left with a picture or writing on the right
by touching metal contacts by each picture {Metal contacts are at the
end of the pointing finger on each gloved hand}. If correct matches are
made, a light below Gertie the Gardener’s chin lights up. We had several
ideas for parents to do with their children such as pressing flowers,
making stepping stones, painting flower pots, and building birdhouses.

pictured near our booth at the fair. We won Best of Show in our category
for our informational, interactive booth about involving children in the
garden.
Pictured are from back and L to R: Linnie Dooms, Anita
Williams, Martha Feland, Allison Davis, Linda Majchrzak, Frankie
Warhurst, Jeanette wood, Janice Staton, Angelia Hudson, and Bill Weaver.

Lonoke Co. Master Gardeners help annually by serving on a
committee for the fair, setting up the horticulture booth and operation
of it throughout the fair.
