2010 Arkansas State Fair Information

The 2010 Arkansas State Fair season is coming soon. The Arkansas State Fair is October 8-17, 2010. Eligibility requirements are as follows: the exhibitor must be a bona fide member of the Arkansas 4-H or FFA in good standing, must be at least nine years of age by October 8, 2010 (the opening day of the State Fair), must have a project directed under the supervision of an Arkansas vo-ag teacher or county extension agent, and must choose to represent either Arkansas FFA or Arkansas 4-H in competitions at the Arkansas State Fair. The organization represented must be the same for all species in which the exhibitor has entries.

Any exhibitor who plans to participate in any livestock show held under the direction of the Arkansas Livestock Show Association during the 2010 Show season needs to sign a 2010 Arkansas State Fair – Livestock Exhibitor Signature Form. Please contact the extension office at 754-2240 for the Livestock Exhibitor Signature Form.

The 2010 registration procedures for market animals in the Arkansas State Fair are an online registration process. The entries must be made online through the county extension agent or ag teacher only.

Pay close attention to deadlines. Please notify the county extension office and pay the per-head fee for ordering the animal ID kit (consisting of one ASF ear tag and one ASF DNA envelope).

Market lambs and goats May 7 - July 20 – Free

Once you complete the DNA process, you must mail in your DNA to ASF, and it must be postmarked by:

Market steers on or before May 24 - Free
Market hogs on or before July 28 - Free
Market lambs and goats on or before July 21 – Free
