Endowments

Endowments are excellent opportunities for leaving a legacy and often provide naming opportunities to honor or memorialize individuals, organizations, or corporations.  As only a small percentage of an endowment’s investment earnings is utilized for expenditures, endowments make resources available perpetually, maintaining an important financial stability for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture while also granting a lasting impact to an area of interest for our donors.

Endowments can be established through the Agricultural Development Council of The University of Arkansas (UA) Foundation, Inc., which serves as the 501(c)(3) charitable arm supporting the campuses and institutions within the University of Arkansas System.  Endowments can be funded through cash gifts (outright or pledged) or planned gifts (i.e., irrevocable bequests in will or living trusts, charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, gifts of property or real estate, gifts of marketable security, etc.).

Current endowments that support the programs, faculty and staff of the Cooperative Extension Service include the following:

Arkansas Association of LeadAR Alumni (AALA) Builders Campaign

Cooperative Extension Service Retiree Scholarship

Robert D. & Betty F. Oliver Arkansas 4-H Scholarship

Raydus Ree & Virginia Williams James Arkansas 4-H Scholarship

Extension Equine Education Endowment

Mildred and Liz Childs CES Professional Development Fund

Ada & Tyrrell Anderson Arkansas 4-H Scholarship

Lynn R. Russell Endowed Award for Professional Excellence

Van Buren County LeadAR Scholarship

Washington County Master Gardener Endowment

For more information on how endowments make a lasting impact in the programs of the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture or on how you can leave a legacy or honor the legacy of another, please contact one of the directors of development.
