Como Square Committee
Location: Intersections of Central and Ouachita Avenues
Purpose: To assist the Daughters of the Confederacy in maintaining a horticulture
garden.

County Court House Grounds Committee
Location: Garland County Courthouse and District Court Building on 501 and
600 Ouachita Avenue
Purpose: To enhance the appearance of both places by planting and caring for
the flower beds and other plants.

County Fair Horticulture Exhibit Committee
Location: Building 9 (Horticulture building) at Garland County Fairground
Purpose: To set up horticulture exhibits during the county fair.

Education Series Committee
Purpose: To provide education to the community in the form of classes on various
gardening techniques, usually located at the Garland County Fairgrounds.

Extension Office Committee
Location: At the Master Gardener office in the Garland County Extension building
239 Woodbine
Purpose: Records and maintains work and learning hours for master gardeners.
Answers questions about horticulture posed by the community.

Extension Building Landscape Committee
Location: Garland County Extension Office
Purpose: To maintain gardens around the Garland County Extension building.

Fairgrounds Landscape Committee
Location: Garland County Fairgrounds
Purpose: To enhance the appearance of Garland County Fairgrounds by developing
and maintaining flower beds at the front and back entrances, the herb garden,
and other flower beds.

Garden Therapy Committee
Location: At the Caring Place, 101 Quapaw, Hot Springs
Purpose: This is an Alzheimer’s Respite Care Program that provides garden
related programs and hands-on projects to those affected by Alzheimer’s
disease and dementia.

Garvan Woodland Gardens Committee
Location: Garvan Woodland Gardens
Purpose: To assist the docent service for visitors to “Garvan Woodland
Gardens” and to assist in the landscaping and maintenance of horticulture
exhibits and gardens.

Purpose: To recognize residents and businesses for their efforts in making
our communities more attractive.

Paul Bewie Boys and Girls Club Committee
Location: At the Sports Complex, McAuley Center and North Garland County Headstart

Purpose: Maintains trees, shrubs, and plants at the Center by pruning, thinning,
weeding, etc.

Plant Sale Committee
Purpose: To plan organize and oversee an annual spring plant sal..

Triangle and Greenhouse Committee
Location: The triangle is located at the corner of Grand and Malvern Avenues.
The greenhouse is located at 236 Davidson.
Purpose: The flower beds are planted and maintained at the triangle. The greenhouse
crew pots, prunes & repots annuals, perennials & trees for use around
the city.

Hot Springs Xeriscape Garden Committee
Location: Located inside the Hot Springs Greenway
Purpose: Maintains a xeriscape garden that enhances the beauty of the Hot Springs
community

Location: At the Cortex Pavilion
Purpose: Maintain s a garden that conserves water and energy using xeriscape
gardening techniques

Purpose: Helps adult living students to prepare and maintain a spring and fall
vegetable garden; helps pre school students to make gifts for mothers on Mothers
