The Best Care

The Best CareThe Best Care program is a training program offered free to childcare providers or anyone interested in becoming a childcare provider. The program provides 10 hours of training to fulfill the state requirement for licensed childcare providers. All participants will receive a 3-ring binder with information, handouts, and activity ideas as well as a certificate verifying the hours of training received.

Guiding Children Successfully

Guiding Children Successfully (GCS) is a new series of free video lessons available for loan through the Faulkner County Extension Office to parents and child care providers. The series is produced by the Arkansas Education Television Network (AETN) in partnership with the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service (UACES). Dr. Wally Goddard, Family Life Specialist, hosts the 12 part series. In the series Dr. Goddard addresses topics ranging from motivating children to teaching children responsibility.

There is a self-study program based around the series that can be used by child care providers, parents and educators to receive up to 12 hours of verified training through the Arkansas Early Childhood Professional Development System (AECPDS). The self study materials include learning checks and an evaluation form to help validate engaged effort by each participant.

Contact the Faulkner County Extension Office for more information on viewing or checking out the video tapes. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.
