understanding of public decision making by providing sources of information,
data, analysis and news on public policy issues impacting Arkansas producers.
Horticulture Business Resources
Commercial Horticulture includes the areas of fruits, ornamentals, turf,
vegetables, and herbs. On this site you will find links to web sites that
provide information in the areas of horticulture production, marketing, and
legal/human resources.
Marketing
Marketing their crops and livestock has always been important to the
profitability of Arkansas producers. As American agriculture moves steadily to a
market-oriented and global system, it is expected marketing will have a greater
affect on farm-level profitability. Planting decisions will be based on expected
market returns more so than in the past. Producers will experience greater
exposure to price and yield risk. Thus, market information, records, and
available marketing tools increase in their importance to successfully manage
price risk.
MarketMaker
MarketMaker is an online marketing resource available to Arkansas’ farmers,
businesses, and consumers. It is an interactive web resource aimed at promoting
the products and businesses of agricultural producers.
