Secretarial Resources - In-Service Training for Secretaries
Each employee will have opportunities for in-service training. In fact, all
in-service training opportunities are open to everyone unless specified
otherwise. Discuss the training offering you wish to take with your supervisor
before you sign up.
Registration for in-service training is web-based. New training offerings for
the upcoming calendar year are posted on the Extension intranet web site near
the end of the current year. Two days of in-service training designed for
support staff, including secretaries, is usually held in the spring of the year
in Little Rock.
You should review all training opportunities and register before January 31.
Extension policy only allows training to be conducted if more than ten employees
register per session. By the end of January, training offerings that have less
than ten registered are subject to being dropped. The decision to drop any
course is finally made by the appropriate State Leader/Associate Director.
Occasionally, unplanned training opportunities will be offered (grant-based or
critical need), and they will be announced through e-mail.
To register for any in-service training do the following:
- Go to the Intranet (http://intranet.uaex.edu)
- Select In-Service Training
- Login with user ID and password
- Review “List of Training Opportunities and Attendees” button to decide
what to sign up for
- Choose the “Sign Up Here For Training” button
- Highlight the name of the class you want
- Choose the “Highlight a Course Name and Confirm Your Selection” button
- Select the “Sign Me Up “button
You will be signed up when your supervisors approve your selection
electronically
For help go to the Main Menu and click on “User’s Guide” in the upper left
hand corner of the screen. The guide should answer most of your questions.
