July 2003

1. Locate the McAfee folder on the County Resource CD and run setup.exe.**The current version is v4.5.1 SP1 (McAfee must be at this version for the detection and cleaning of newer virus’s like Klez and Nimda.)

2. When you double-click setup.exe and you are running Windows XP you may receive a message that the installer has detected Fast User switching is enabled. Just select OK and continue. The first screen is just a Welcome message, select Next.

3. The second screen is the EULA, choose I agree and then select Next.

4. If you are running Windows XP the next screen ask for a choice of security level. Choose Use Maximum Security and select Next.

5. Choose Typical Installation in the next window and select Next. The Ready to Install window appears, select Install.

6. You will now see the install window with a status bar. Just let this run and on the next screen uncheck the Run Default Scan and select Next. The virus scan will run at this time for a few seconds.

7. The Update Virus Definitions window appears and you should choose Wait and Run Update Later. Select Next.

8. On the next screen just select finish and McAfee will start.

**(Note: If you have an older CD the setup program will be in the Win32 folder under the McAfee folder and you must run SP1 separately from the sp1 folder under Win32.)
