Banner Minutes
June 23, 2008

1. Outstanding action items from last meeting.

2. Projects
  a) Disaster Recovery
  b) Accounts Receivable – Resume looking at it after year end.
  c) Argos – Mark has created a data block for approvals and created two reports, moving the open PO report to Argos.
  d) Banner budget process for departmental budget preparation – Begin exploring after year end.

3. End of Year
External factors tend to squeeze the timeline for closing year end. Receiving bank statements from counties delay the process, while the deadline for submitting financial statements to Fayetteville prevent flexibility to extend the closing schedule.

4. Luminis Update
Many items are left to be done, but the teams are still planning on a July 28 alpha test schedule.

5. Oracle 10G and Banner 8 upgrade
Steve reported that the upgrade was taking longer than anticipated because there were so many prerequisites. There are about 40 steps he must perform for each of the 8 Banner databases. He will also redo the statistics. Fort Smith kept their old hardware running through June 30 to give us time to convert our databases to 10g and move the standby to their new hardware.

ACTION ITEM – Nina will notify UAFS that they may now disconnect the server containing the 9i version of our standby database.

SunGard has advised that the upgrade to Banner 8, which we will perform sometime in calendar 2009, takes approximately twice as much time to install.
