Banner Minutes
February 25, 2008

1. Outstanding action items from last meeting.
ACTION ITEM: Steve will install the upgrade in the Spot instance of Banner and let financial services know when testing can start. Done.

ACTION ITEM: HR will be asked to explore adding the capability to upload multiple transcripts into PeopleAdmin. Done.

ACTION ITEM: Karin will e-mail the appropriate Banner listserv to learn who else is using the IPEDs report. The series of reports from Banner may be correct, but the numbers don’t match what was pulled manually. Bruce has seen this issue before. The IPEDS categories may be wrong in Banner, though race and gender should be correct. Dennis has the code for the data that was pulled for the manual reports. Karin will open a support ticket for assistance on what settings impact the way data is pulled for the Banner IPEDS report.

ACTION ITEM (New): Nina will set up a subcommittee to work on IPEDS. Barbara Batiste, Dennis, Karin and other individuals will participate as appropriate.

ACTION ITEM: Jim will reopen the contact on stores inventory concerning the reconciliation problem. Jim thinks the upgrade may have fixed the problem and will test it.

2. Projects
  a) Disaster Recovery - Status? The required Oracle 10g upgrade has been delayed due to the large list of tasks required for the Luminis install. Steve will perform the upgrade, load the auxiliary server and provide copies of necessary media to be stored at UAFS.
  b) Accounts Receivable - A Form Fusion invoice will need to be created. A/R will contract with eVisions to create the form. Status? Linda will give Sheryl the contact information for eVisions. The cost will be charged to the IT 3602 14000 budget.
  c) Argos - The plan is to move all of Purchasing’s static Access reports to Argos so that they may begin to become comfortable with the software and identify ad hoc reporting needs. Status? Much progress has been made in recreating reports. Mark has been working with Bruce. Banner upgrade required for Luminis - Once Sheryl and Bruce give the green light, Steve will proceed with the production upgrade.

Argos update - Bruce is testing the beta portal connector and making reports available w/o a login required. The new publication system is the first non-Banner application to use Argos.

3. Other Business
A suggestion for the ABUG conference in May is to perform a survey of what institutions are using which modules, including General, Finance, HR, Student, Stores, Fixed Assets, Argos, e~Print and PeopleAdmin.
