Basic Long Term Disability

The University of Arkansas provides an LTD benefit of 60% of your annual salary up to a salary maximum of $20,000 free of cost. The maximum monthly benefit is $1,000.

Optional Long Term Disability*

If your salary is more than $20,000, you may enroll in optional LTD. This coverage provides a disability benefit of 60% of that portion of your annual salary above $ 20,000. Your cost is $.57 per $100 of your monthly salary above $1,666.67. To figure your cost, do the following:

  1. Take your annual salary

  2. Divide by 12

  3. Subtract $ 1,666.67

  4. Divide by 100

  5. Multiply by $.57

  6. The result is your monthly cost

* Note: You may enroll in the Optional LTD plan as a newly hired employee, when your salary first reaches $20,000, or upon proof of insurability.
