Managing Resources in Limited Resource Families

Goal #1 Arkansans with limited financial resources will improve money management skills to stretch resources to meet financial goals.

Objective #1 Households will develop and follow a spending plan to achieve savings and debt reduction goals.

Benchmark

1. Number participants who follow a spending plan and make the money last from month to month.

2. Number participants who increase savings to meet emergencies and financial goals.

3. Number participants who reduce debt.

4. Amount debt reduced.

5. Amount money saved.

Audience

1. Limited resource (working poor) families

2. Teen parents attending high school.

3. Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA) eligible households

Curriculum

1. Life Skills for Work & Family - Money Management Lessons

2. Money & You

1. Individual Lessons or Presentations

Objective #2 Households will practice consumer strategies to extend the use of limited resources.

1. Number households who can identify and use appropriate financial services, including applying for the Earned Income Tax Credit, to avoid money traps.

2. Number households who use the 6-Step Decision-Making process to address work/family issues, e.g. such as securing reliable child care and transportation to the work site.

3. Number households who report increased satisfaction with their household financial management practices and financial well-being
