Curriculum Categories for Basic Life-Skills Training – Older Children in Foster
Care
Prepared by Judith R. Urich, Family
Resource Management Specialist
Spring 2003
Here are topics the DHS Foster Care program deem important to teach teens who
are about to leave the system. Other agencies use similar categories when agents
are asked to address certain topics. Here is a list of general resources you can
use if you are asked to present. I thought since the topics are a one-word list,
it would help us all remember that we have flexibility. Also it might pay to ask
a few questions.
