and the sender can customize message
- Deadline is May 15, 2006- Donna said we’re on target to meet this
deadline
- Virtual newsroom
- Discussed photo gallery
- Will organize photos based on the links on the homepage; i.e.
agriculture, health & nutrition, home & garden, etc.
- Will include low resolution photos (already existing) with news
articles, but clicking on the photo will take user to high resolution photo in
the gallery
- Lamar James and Elizabeth Fortune will start organizing photos to include in gallery
- Will start with about five photos in each category and slowly
build up folders
- Lamar James will call UAMS (Sam Giannovola) about photo software they use
- Discussed possibility of having a keyword search in the photo
- Discussed possibility of including cutline in photo
- Add contact information for Elizabeth Fortune & Lamar James
- Topic areas/listing specialists as experts
- A lot of debate on this issue. Discussed pros/cons of listing all
specialists and their area of expertise. In the end, decided to start with
listing Extension’s expert topic areas. This will be arranged alphabetically. Elizabeth Fortune will start working on compiling this list.
- Decided to only add specialist bios to the public site. Do not
think reporters will want to be bogged down with this information when they come
to the newsroom. We will need to develop a standardized form for specialists to
fill out and we will attach a low-resolution thumbnail photo. Specialists will
be asked to fill out the form when interviewed for a news article. We will ask
Wilma to create a Word template for the form
- Decided to maintain news archive for one year; currently, we
maintain it for three months.
- Front page survey
We will have a graphic on the front page with a
link to the survey
- We will offer incentives to take the survey
- Incentives will include win a one on one consultation with an
Extension expert. The consultation will change every quarter. One quarter may
be win a consult with Janet Carson, the next quarter it may be win a consult
with a health & nutrition specialist
- We will need to run the survey, incentives and rules & regulations
by Barbara Batiste
- Cost of search engine links
- Will not do any research on this for the time
being. Donna is taking some classes this summer on search engines so we
will wait to hear from her after her classes.
