T. E. A. M. Together Everyone Achieves More!

Senior members of the Dallas County H & S Dreammakers 4-H Club decide to compete in the Home Furnishing activity at the State O-Rama. The team won second place in the competition.

The four participants began with a plan for a child's room that they were required to change into a home office. The competitors had a limited budget and had to explain their ideas for the changes. They faced many challenges, such as limited floor space, door and window placement, and lighting problems. In preparation for the assignment, and with the assistance of the Dallas County Extension Staff, the team gathered information about principles of interior design. While at the Extension office, staff encouraged the team members to share ideas, stay on task, and focus on the outcome.

Many long hours of research, layout design, making visual aids for presentation, and practice resulted in a second place award at the 2006 Arkansas 4-H O-Rama in Fayetteville.
