County Impact Statements - Cross County
Extension’s goal is to help clientele to improve their quality of life
through delivering information based on sound, unbiased research. Most of this
research is conducted by professors, specialists, and graduate students either
at the University of Arkansas of Arkansas or on one Experiment stations
throughout the state. As these research programs are completed, the results are
made available to the county Extension offices through out the state. This
information is in turn made available to the public.
Because questions arise about problems on which research has not been
conducted, county Extension agents work together with both the producer and
specialists to answer these questions. This is done in the form of
demonstrations conducted at the county level in grower fields. The results of
these demonstrations are important, not only to the producer involved, but
possibly to producers in other parts of the county or surrounding counties.
To help get this information to others in a timely manner, field days are
held, which allows producers to observe research first hand. Extension research
specialists, county agents and host producers are there to answer questions
about the problem, how the research was conducted, and the solution. Please take
the opportunity to attend a field day and learn about the latest research on
local problems.
