Crawford County Home & GardenYour resource for local gardening information! Our mission is to educate and enlighten Crawford County residents. In order to achieve this end, the Crawford County Office of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service offers a wealth of Horticultural services. Annually we assess the horticultural needs of our county and implement educational programs to address these issues. Our office has a full-time Horticulturist on staff to serve you. Crawford County Garden Notes Newsletter Are you receiving this FREE newsletter devoted to our local gardens? Garden Notes is mailed out 5 times a year and contains timely information for Sebastian County gardeners. We cover basic topics like pruning, turf care, ornamentals, and things to look out for! To receive this free newsletter you must be added to our mailing list (which is updated annually). Call our office to add your name, or pick up a copy at a local garden center or library. Demonstrations
If you have a suggestion for or would like to host a Horticultural demonstration in Crawford County, contact our office. Hands-on Training Throughout the year, hands-on training in horticultural issues is offered. Usually “hands-on” means pruning when it comes to Horticulture education, but other courses offered throughout the year.
Educational Programs Do you belong to a group who is interested in gardening? Many such groups call on our office for educational presentations. We can provide programs to meet your group’s needs. Contact our office at 479-484-7737 for more information.

provide the following FREE services:
The
River Valley Master Gardener Program is designed to increase the availability of
horticultural information and improve quality of life with horticultural
projects. Trained volunteers, known as Master Gardeners, accomplish these
educational goals. Program participants receive 40 hours of intensive
horticultural training and are expected to give back 40 hours of community
service within a year after finishing the training. Training areas include
basic horticulture, fruits, houseplants, ornamentals, vegetables and diagnostic
keys to horticultural problems. This program is conducted in conjunction with
the Crawford County Extension Office. If you are interested in becoming a
River Valley Master Gardener, contact the Sebastian or Crawford County Extension Office.
A
fundamental part of our educational efforts is the establishment of
public demonstrations of new techniques, varieties and ideas. Recent
