Cleveland County
Cleveland County is a natural for lovers of the great outdoors. Acres and acres
of thick timberland provide endless opportunities for fishing, hunting, and
woodland recreation. Timber has always been the leading industry in this part of
Arkansas, but Cleveland County now produces broiler chicks and cattle as well.
The Saline River meanders through the county northwest to southeast. There's
good fishing for bass, bluegills, crappie and catfish. In our hamlets and along
our highways, you'll discover remembrances of early pioneer life in Arkansas and
skirmishes between the Blue and the Gray during the Civil War.
